when I "feel" it....I need to write!...I had a very deep, and most serious conversation with a friend of mine today...in the hottest sun I've experienced in a while...but his words were so captivating and the subject so interesting that I almost forgot I was sitting out in the hot sun!....not disclosing specifics, but the subject referenced humanitarianism....and although I am leaving out a lot, I want everyone to understand that the scope of this involved more than the "help or caring for" your fellow man....it embraced the idea that all too often we get so consumed in our everyday lives, that we don't stop and think about the well being of "others"...he understood it, I already knew it, but like I said we get so "caught up" in our own situations....our own problems, our own business!.....for me, it was a reminder!...a much needed one...and I came to the realization, that even though we may feel at times, that we have nothing to offer...there is nothing more precious or valuable than your own "time", "attention"...."presence"...he inspired me to do better, be better... there may never be a more perfect time than now to share the "gifts" God has given me/YOU....I pride myself on telling jokes...I can make you laugh!...I make myself laugh....and I guess the most important gift of all....the gift of "listening"....strangers have poured out their hearts to me, after a simple "hello, how are you?!?"....I believe myself to be a great listener!...sometimes, it does folks good to just get things off their chests....no feat too small....INSPIRED!...now I have to figure out where and when I am going to "reach out"....any suggestions would be great, and I have a few in mind already!...there's nothing more exhilarating or fulfilling than knowing that at some point in someone's life....you made a difference...signing off with the words of one of my Dad's favorite songs:
If I can help somebody
As I travel along
If I can help somebody
With a word or song
If I can help somebody
From doing wrong
My living shall not be in vain.
PEACE!:))
